Fireworks in Rotherham and South Yorkshire

Rotherham's housing stock is genuinely varied: tight terraces in Eastwood and Masbrough, generous semis out in Wickersley and Brinsworth, and proper field-sized plots around Maltby, Wath-upon-Dearne and Thurcroft. Most S60 to S66 addresses can fire a garden display on private land. The dense town-centre streets and the Riverside flats are the obvious exceptions — those addresses suit selection boxes and single-shot mines rather than full barrage cakes.

5 November is the busy week. Clifton Park usually runs the headline council display, with community events around Maltby, Swinton and Wath. The 11pm curfew extends to midnight on the night itself, so you can fire later than usual. Order before late October if you want a guaranteed dispatch slot. Bonfire week books up first.

The Dinnington showroom is the closest one to you — under 15 minutes via the A631 or junction 31 of the M1. 12-14 Hangsman Lane, S25 3PF, open Monday to Saturday (closed Wednesdays and Sundays). Free parking, screens running every cake on test, and the team can talk through what works for your garden. Click & Collect if you want to pay online and pick up.

Diwali fireworks are legal until 1am on the night. We see Diwali orders coming in from mid-October into the Eastwood and Masbrough areas. Low-noise cakes and single-shot mines are the right shape for close-packed streets.

New Year and Chinese New Year also extend to 1am. Stock holds through to spring. Fireworks are legal year-round on private land with the landowner's permission, so we don't sell out in mid-November like the supermarket pop-ups.

Selection boxes for small gardens, complete display packs for big ones. If you've got 8 metres clear to spectators, F2 garden fireworks are fine. If you've got 25 metres or a field next to the house, the complete display packs are aimed at you. Bring a photo of your garden in to the Dinnington store if you want a recommendation. We'd rather you ring than buy the wrong thing.

Low-noise is a proper category, not one or two products. Cakes, fountains and Catherine wheels in the under-75dB range, listed on our low-noise collection. The bangs are stripped out; the colour and crackle stays.

Storage: somewhere cool, dry, locked, and out of children's reach. Manufacturers' packaging is fine. Up to 48 days from delivery without an explosives licence. The driver will move boxes wherever you ask before they go.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you deliver to Rotherham?

Yes, every S60 to S66 postcode plus Wickersley, Maltby, Wath, and Mexborough. Most Rotherham customers find it quicker to pop into our Dinnington store on the A631 (about 10 minutes from town), but delivery is on the same routing as our Sheffield drivers.

How far is the Dinnington store from Rotherham?

Our Dinnington showroom is about 10 minutes by car from Rotherham town centre. Head out on the A631 towards Maltby and Dinnington, or take M1 junction 31. It's open six days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (closed Wednesdays and Sundays)). You can handle products, watch video demos on our screens, and talk to our team about what suits your garden. Call 01909 560011 to check we're in stock for anything specific.

What's the legal curfew for setting off fireworks?

In England (including South Yorkshire), you must not set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am, except on specific dates: Bonfire Night (5th November, until midnight), New Year's Eve (until 1am), Diwali (until 1am), and Chinese New Year (until 1am). You can only set them off on private land where you have permission. Public places (parks, streets, car parks) are always illegal. The penalties are serious: unlimited fines and up to 6 months prison.

How far should fireworks be from people and buildings?

F2 garden fireworks need a minimum of 8 metres clearance. F3 display fireworks need 25 metres. Always check the individual product label (some may require more. Our team at the store can advise on your specific garden layout. General safety: keep spectators at a safe distance, never lean over a firework after lighting it, and always use a proper fuse with a spark guard.

Will your drivers help me with my delivery?

Yes. The driver will offload your boxes and move them wherever you want: garage, shed, outbuilding, or round the back through a side gate. Leave a delivery note on the basket page if there's anything specific (gate code, dog in the garden, blind corner) and the driver will know. Ring 01909 560011 if you'd rather speak to someone first.

Looking for an organised event instead?

Some years you want the bonfire without the clean-up. Our Yorkshire and Humber events guide covers the organised 2026 displays, including Clifton Park's free bonfire night here in Rotherham and the Locke Park charity show in Barnsley.

For the home-display years, the Dinnington shop is just up the road and open year-round.
