Scotland's firework rules are tighter than England's
The Fireworks (Scotland) Regulations 2004 and the Fireworks and Pyrotechnic Articles (Scotland) Act 2022 set the floor. If you're buying for use in Glasgow, read this before you order.
The 6pm-to-11pm window
Scotland's curfew runs from 6pm to 11pm on most nights — not 7am to 11pm like England. The window extends to midnight on 5 November and 1am on Hogmanay, Diwali and Chinese New Year. Outside that window, on any night, fireworks are illegal.
Glasgow's Firework Control Zones
Glasgow City Council was the first Scottish council to declare FCZs, in autumn 2024. Three current zones cover Pollokshields, Govanhill and Broomhouse. F2 and F3 fireworks are banned outright inside those zones on any land, public or private. F1 sparklers and party poppers are unaffected. You can still buy fireworks while living inside an FCZ; you just can't fire them on that property. Fines for breach run to £5,000 or six months inside.
Storage, age, public land
Storage: cool, dry, locked, out of children's reach, manufacturers' packaging. Up to 48 days from delivery without an explosives licence. Age 18+ to buy F2 or F3. Public land (parks, streets, the riverbank) is always illegal regardless of the curfew. Safety distances are national: 8 metres for F2, 25 metres for F3.
Fireworks in Glasgow and the Clyde Valley
Hogmanay is the biggest fireworks night of the year in Glasgow. The headline display fires off George Square at midnight on 31 December. Bonfire Night runs a distant second — most Glaswegian households mark it but the city's bigger anchor is New Year. Diwali and Chinese New Year see steady orders into the southside and east end communities each year.
G-postcode addresses split sharply between the FCZ-affected southside (Pollokshields, Govanhill) where F2 and F3 are banned outright on any land, and the rest of the city. The west end (G11, G12, G13), south of the Clyde outside the zones, and most of the East End and Maryhill all allow private F2 and F3 use on private land during the 6pm-11pm window. Outside the city we deliver across Renfrewshire, East Dunbartonshire, North and South Lanarkshire, Inverclyde and into Ayrshire on the same Scottish run.
Tenement back greens and small terraced gardens — most of the inner-city housing stock — suit low-noise selection boxes and single-shot mines rather than barrage cakes. The bigger suburban gardens out at Bearsden, Newton Mearns or Bishopbriggs handle full F3 display packs comfortably. The low-noise range is under-75dB and built for close-packed streets.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you deliver fireworks to Glasgow?
Yes, every G postcode plus Paisley (PA), East Kilbride, Hamilton, Motherwell, and across the wider Lanarkshire and Renfrewshire patch. Some parts of Glasgow may sit inside Fireworks Control Zones, check Glasgow City Council's map before any private discharge.
What time can I set off fireworks in Glasgow?
In Scotland, fireworks can only be set off between 6pm and 11pm on most nights. Extended hours apply to Bonfire Night (until midnight), New Year's Eve, Diwali, and Chinese New Year (all until 1am). Always verify you're not in a Firework Control Zone before setting off any fireworks.
Can I buy fireworks if I'm in a Glasgow FCZ?
Yes, you can purchase fireworks even if you're in a Firework Control Zone. You simply cannot set them off in that zone. You can use them on other private land outside the designated area, or store them for use in other locations.
What's the minimum order value for fireworks delivery?
Firework deliveries to Glasgow require a minimum order of £100 because fireworks need specialist ADR-certified transport and UN-approved packaging. Non-pyro items (sparklers, smoke grenades, ice fountains) can be delivered from any value via Saver delivery.
Do your drivers help set up fireworks in my garden?
Our specialist drivers deliver and help you offload your fireworks somewhere safe (porch, garage, shed, or outbuilding). You store them and use them on a later date of your choice.
