Fireworks in Nottingham and the East Midlands
Nottingham takes Bonfire Night seriously. Wollaton Park runs the city's biggest organised display every November, and most NG postcodes are well outside the city's no-fireworks zones, which means a back-garden display is fair game on private land. We see a strong run of Diwali orders into NG7, NG3 and the Hyson Green / Sherwood area through October and early November too.
5 November is the busy week. The 11pm curfew extends to midnight, so you can run a display later than usual. If you want a specific delivery date, order before late October. Bonfire week itself fills up first.
Most NG-postcode customers shop online. Browse the range, watch the clip on each listing (we film every product on test), then pick a delivery date. Your postcode pins the exact dispatch slot at checkout. Nottingham, Mansfield, Newark, West Bridgford, Beeston, Hucknall all sit on the same Notts / East Midlands run.
Diwali fireworks are legal until 1am. Most Diwali orders land in October. The range covers low-noise cakes, single-shot mines, and quieter rocket sets if older neighbours or pets are a factor.
New Year and Chinese New Year also extend to 1am. Stock holds through to spring. Fireworks are legal year-round on private land with the landowner's permission, so we don't sell out and shut up shop in mid-November like the supermarket pop-ups.
Garden size matters more than you'd think. F2 garden fireworks need 8 metres clear from people and buildings; F3 display fireworks need 25 metres. Small terraced garden? Selection boxes and single-shot mines are the right shape. Long garden or access to a paddock? The complete display packs are aimed at you. Phone or pop into the showroom if you're not sure, we'd rather you ring than buy the wrong thing.
Low-noise is a proper category, not just one or two products. Cakes, fountains and Catherine wheels in the under-75dB range, listed on our low-noise collection. The bangs are stripped out; the colour and crackle stays.
Storage: somewhere cool, dry, locked, and out of children's reach. Manufacturers' packaging is fine. Up to 48 days from delivery without an explosives licence. The driver will move boxes wherever you ask before they go.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you deliver fireworks to Nottingham?
Yes, every Nottinghamshire postcode (NG1 to NG31) plus Mansfield, Newark, Beeston, West Bridgford, and Hucknall. Our Retford store handles East Midlands click and collect, and our drivers cover the same patch on delivery routes.
Is it worth driving to Retford, or should I just order online?
Depends what you want from the visit. If you want to see fireworks fire before you buy, the screens at the showroom show every cake on test. You can watch six or seven back-to-back. If you just want a delivery sorted, the website does it without the drive. About a third of our Nottingham customers come up once to see the showroom, then order online from then on. That's the most common pattern. Click & Collect splits the difference: pay online, pick up at the store.
Can I set off fireworks on any night in Nottingham?
Yes, legally you can set off fireworks any night of the year on private land where you have permission. However, there's a curfew: you must not set them off between 11pm and 7am, except on special dates: Bonfire Night (5th November, until midnight), New Year's Eve (until 1am), Diwali (until 1am), and Chinese New Year (until 1am). You can only use them on private land; public places like parks and streets are always illegal. Penalties are serious: unlimited fines and up to 6 months prison.
What if I have a small urban garden?
Selection boxes are the right call for small gardens: a compact mix of fountains, cakes and one or two rockets in a sealed pack. You still need 8 metres clear from people and buildings for any F2 firework, so measure first. If you've got close neighbours or older pets, the low-noise range gets you most of the colour without the bangs. Ring or pop in if you want a steer on a specific product.
Will your drivers help me with my delivery?
Yes. The driver will offload your boxes and move them wherever you want: garage, shed, outbuilding, even round the back through a side gate. Leave a delivery note on the basket page if there's anything specific (gate code, dog in the garden, blind corner) and the driver will know. Ring 01777 249897 if you'd rather speak to someone first.

Looking for an organised event instead?
With Forest Rec's free display gone for good, finding a Nottingham bonfire takes a bit more planning. Our East Midlands events guide lists what's actually running in 2026, including the ticketed displays that stepped in after the council event was axed.
