Firework Fountains – Ground-Level Colour and Crackle
Fountains sit on the ground and spray sparks, crackle and colour upwards. Most have no aerial effects and are quieter than cakes or rockets, although Fire Balls is a louder F1 novelty. Check the noise rating before you choose.

What Do Fountain Fireworks Actually Look Like?
Think of a cone or tube on the ground shooting a spray of sparks and colour 2 to 4 metres into the air. The smaller ones – like Chunky Monkey and Laser from Brothers Pyrotechnics – give you about a minute of golden and silver showers. They're simple but they look great, especially grouped together.
The bigger fountains are where things get interesting. Krakatoa from Primed Pyrotechnics (£19.99) runs for 80 seconds with colour changes and crackle phases. Pyramid Twist from Gemstone (£29.99) is a proper centrepiece – a twisted pyramid shape that's as much about the look of the firework itself as the effects it produces. How Do Fountains Fit Into a Display?
Most fountains work well as openers or quieter breaks between louder cakes and barrages. Fire Balls is the exception, so check the noise rating before adding one to a quiet display.
For a quieter display, choose fountains marked low noise and pair them with sparklers and low-noise cakes. For outdoor wedding displays, they provide a gentle backdrop that won't drown out conversation. No. Consumer firework fountains must always be used outdoors with the correct safety distances. For indoor use at weddings and events, look at ice fountains (cold spark machines) – a completely different product designed specifically for indoor settings.
