Fireworks in Sheffield and South Yorkshire
Sheffield's gardens run the whole way from terraced strips in Heeley, Sharrow and Walkley to half-acre plots out at Dore, Fulwood and Whirlow. The bigger gardens around the Peak District edge handle F3 display fireworks comfortably; the city-centre terraces tend to be selection-box or single-shot territory. Sheffield Hallam and the Uni mean a chunk of the city is student-rented and not where you want to be firing rockets, but most residential addresses across S1 to S35 are fair game on private land.
5 November is the busy week. High Hazels Park usually runs the headline council display, with smaller community events at Hillsborough Park and across the Don Valley. Curfew extends to midnight that night so you can fire a display later than usual. If you want a specific delivery date, order before late October. Bonfire week itself fills up first.
Most S-postcode customers shop online, but the Dinnington showroom is on the doorstep. The store sits just off junction 31 of the M1 (12-14 Hangsman Lane, S25 3PF), about 20 minutes from the city centre. Free parking outside, screens running every cake on test, and the team can talk through what suits your garden if you bring a photo. Click & Collect splits the difference: pay online, pick up at the store.
Diwali fireworks are legal until 1am on the night. We see a steady run of Diwali orders into S10, S11 and the Burngreave / Pitsmoor area from late October. The low-noise range is the one to look at if older neighbours or pets are a factor.
New Year and Chinese New Year also extend to 1am. Stock holds through to spring. Fireworks are legal year-round on private land with the landowner's permission, so we don't sell out and shut up shop in mid-November like the supermarket pop-ups.
Selection boxes for small gardens, complete display packs for big ones. A typical terraced garden in S2 or S6 takes a compact pack of fountains, single-shot mines and maybe one barrage. A field-sized garden out at Bradfield or Stannington can run a full complete display. Phone or pop into Dinnington if you're not sure. We'd rather you ring than buy the wrong thing.
Low-noise is a proper category, not one or two products. Cakes, fountains and Catherine wheels in the under-75dB range, listed on our low-noise collection. The bangs are stripped out; the colour and crackle stays.
Storage: somewhere cool, dry, locked, and out of children's reach. Manufacturers' packaging is fine. Up to 48 days from delivery without an explosives licence. The driver will move boxes wherever you ask before they go.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you deliver fireworks in Sheffield?
Yes, every postcode from S1 in the city centre out to S35 in Stocksbridge. Our Dinnington store on Hangsman Lane handles most S-postcode orders directly. You can also click and collect from the showroom if you prefer to pick up.
Can I visit the Dinnington store and see fireworks before I buy?
Yes! Our Dinnington showroom is open six days a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (closed Wednesdays and Sundays). You can handle products, watch video demos on our screens, and talk to our team about what suits your garden. It's just off junction 31 of the M1, so it's easy to reach from Sheffield, Rotherham, Barnsley, and Doncaster. Call 01909 560011 to check we're in stock for anything specific.
What's the legal curfew for setting off fireworks?
In England (including South Yorkshire), you must not set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am, except on specific dates: Bonfire Night (5th November, until midnight), New Year's Eve (until 1am), Diwali (until 1am), and Chinese New Year (until 1am). You can only set them off on private land where you have permission. Public places (parks, streets, car parks) are always illegal. The penalties are serious: unlimited fines and up to 6 months prison.
How far should fireworks be from people and buildings?
F2 garden fireworks need a minimum of 8 metres clearance. F3 display fireworks need 25 metres. Always check the individual product label (some may require more. Our team at the store can advise on your specific garden layout. General safety: keep spectators at a safe distance, never lean over a firework after lighting it, and always use a proper fuse with a spark guard.
Will your drivers help me with my delivery?
Yes. The driver will offload your boxes and move them wherever you want: garage, shed, outbuilding, even round the back through a side gate. Leave a delivery note on the basket page if there's anything specific (gate code, dog in the garden, blind corner) and the driver will know. Ring 01909 560011 if you'd rather speak to someone first.

Looking for an organised event instead?
Not every Bonfire Night happens in your own garden. Our Yorkshire and Humber events guide rounds up the organised 2026 displays, from Sheffield Autumn Lights at Don Valley Bowl to Rotherham's free Clifton Park bonfire, with ticket notes and organiser links for each.
And if you'd rather run the show yourself, you're already in the right place: the Dinnington shop is open all year, not just for November.
