Firework Firing Equipment — Launch Tubes, Firing Systems and Safety Gear
Everything you need to set up and fire a display safely. This collection covers rocket launch tubes, electric firing systems, portfires, ignitor cord, quickmatch, e-matches, safety lighters and other display accessories.
For rocket launches, we stock Medium Rocket Tubes (packs of 10, £11.95) and Large Rocket Tubes (packs of 6, £14.95) — essential for stable, safe rocket deployment. Never push rocket sticks into the ground. Portfires from Celtic Fireworks (£3.49) are the traditional handheld lighting method for professional-style displays, while Firework Safety Lighters from Bright Star (£1.99) are a budget-friendly option.
For remote ignition, the 12 Cue Electric Firing System (£99.99) lets you fire up to 12 fireworks from a safe distance using e-matches. The 24 Cue Pro Firing System (£299.95) doubles the capacity for larger shows. E-Matches are available in 300cm and 500cm lengths. Quickmatch from Celtic (£49.99) and Plastic Ignitor Cord provide fusing options for linking multiple fireworks together.
Browse our cakes, rockets and compounds for the fireworks themselves. Orders over £300 qualify for free delivery.
What firing equipment do I need for a garden display?
For a basic garden display, portfires or safety lighters are sufficient — they give you a handheld flame to light fuses directly. Rocket tubes are essential if you're firing rockets. For larger displays or if you want to fire from a distance, an electric firing system with e-matches lets you trigger fireworks remotely.
What is a firework firing system?
An electric firing system uses a control box and e-matches (electrically ignited fuse heads) to fire fireworks remotely. You wire an e-match to each firework, connect them to numbered cues on the control box, then fire each one from a safe distance by pressing a button. Systems range from 12-cue hobbyist units to multi-hundred-cue professional systems.
What are portfires?
Portfires are slow-burning handheld sticks used to light firework fuses. They produce a steady flame that makes it easy to ignite fuses at arm's length, giving you more time to step back than a standard lighter. They're the preferred lighting method for anyone firing more than a couple of fireworks.
What is quickmatch?
Quickmatch is a fast-burning fuse enclosed in a paper tube. When lit, the flame travels through the tube almost instantly, allowing you to chain multiple fireworks together so they fire in rapid succession from a single ignition point. It is primarily used in professional and semi-professional displays.
Do I need rocket tubes?
Yes. Rockets should always be launched from a stable tube — never pushed into the ground. The stick can deflect off stones or uneven ground and send the rocket in an unpredictable direction. Tubes hold the rocket upright and allow it to launch cleanly. We stock medium and large tubes to suit different rocket sizes.
Does firing equipment come with free delivery?
Orders over £300 qualify for free delivery to mainland UK. Smaller orders carry a flat delivery charge. Firing equipment can be combined with firework orders to reach the free delivery threshold.
