Make your wedding day memorable with sparklers and ice fountains from Galactic Fireworks. Whether you’re planning a sparkler send-off, creating a striking sparkler arch for photographs, or adding a dramatic cake-topping moment with ice fountains — we have everything you need.
Our wedding sparklers range from 10-inch coloured and crackling sparklers, perfect for table centrepieces and guest favours, right up to our 18-inch Mammoth gold sparklers — the most popular choice for sparkler exits and group wedding photos. The 18-inch size burns for around 90 seconds, giving your photographer plenty of time to capture the moment.
How Many Sparklers Do You Need?
Use this guide to work out how many sparklers for your wedding. We recommend 1–2 sparklers per guest for a send-off, depending on how long you want the display to last.
| Guests | Send-off (1 each) | Extended display (2 each) | Packs needed (5 per pack) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 30 | 30 sparklers | 60 sparklers | 6–12 packs |
| 50 | 50 sparklers | 100 sparklers | 10–20 packs |
| 80 | 80 sparklers | 160 sparklers | 16–32 packs |
| 100 | 100 sparklers | 200 sparklers | 20–40 packs |
| 150 | 150 sparklers | 300 sparklers | 30–60 packs |
Our sparklers come in packs of 4 or 5 depending on the product, so round up to the nearest pack. For larger weddings, check our bulk sparkler deals for case pricing that brings the cost down significantly.
Sparkler Photography Tips for Your Wedding
The sparkler send-off is one of the most photographed moments at any wedding. Here’s how to get the best results:
Choose 18-inch sparklers. Standard 10-inch sparklers burn out in 30–40 seconds — barely enough time to light everyone up. Our 18-inch Mammoth sparklers give you a full 60–90 seconds, which makes all the difference for photography.
Light them quickly. The biggest mistake couples make is slow lighting. Use long-reach lighters or taper candles and assign 2–3 helpers to light from both ends of the line simultaneously. This ensures all sparklers are lit before the first ones start to burn down.
Tell your photographer in advance. A good photographer will want to set shutter speed, ISO, and focus before the send-off. Give them at least 10 minutes’ notice so they can prepare for low-light conditions.
Form two lines, not a crowd. The classic sparkler arch works best with guests in two parallel lines about 1.5 metres apart. Keep the lines tight so the sparklers create a solid tunnel of light.
Time it right. Schedule the send-off for after dark or at dusk. Sparklers look far more impressive against a dark sky than in daylight.
Ice Fountains for Wedding Cakes
Our ice fountains are the other must-have wedding pyrotechnic. They produce a fountain of cold sparks that’s safe to use indoors and directly on top of cakes — perfect for the cake-cutting moment. Ice fountains burn for around 45 seconds and produce minimal smoke, making them venue-friendly. We stock individual ice fountains and bulk cases of 36, 48, 480, and 864 for event planners and venues buying in volume.
Choosing the Right Sparkler Size for Your Wedding
| Size | Burn time | Best for | Price from |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10” Coloured | 30–40 sec | Table centrepieces, guest favours | 89p each |
| 10” Crackling | 30–40 sec | Fun sound effect, evening reception | 89p each |
| 18” Mammoth | 60–90 sec | Sparkler send-off, arch photos, group shots | £1.49 each |
| Glow Wand | 45–60 sec | Reusable alternative, no fire risk | £4.99 each |
For sparkler exits and send-off tunnels, 18-inch sparklers are the clear winner. They burn for approximately 90 seconds — long enough for everyone to light up and hold position while the couple walks through. For table decorations and reception favours, 10-inch sparklers work well and cost less in larger quantities.

Frequently Asked Questions
What size sparklers are best for a wedding send-off?
18-inch sparklers are the most popular choice for wedding send-offs. They burn for around 90 seconds, giving enough time for all guests to light up and form a tunnel while the photographer captures the moment. Our 18” Mammoth Sparklers are our best seller for weddings.
How many sparklers do I need for my wedding?
We recommend one sparkler per guest for a send-off, or two per guest if you want a longer-lasting display. For a 100-guest wedding, 100–200 sparklers is ideal. Our sparklers come in packs of 4 or 5, so round up to the nearest pack. See the quantity guide above for a quick reference.
What is the difference between wedding sparklers and regular sparklers?
Wedding sparklers are typically 18-inch giant sparklers chosen for their longer burn time of 60–90 seconds, compared to 30–40 seconds for standard 10-inch sparklers. The extra length gives photographers enough time to capture sparkler arch and send-off photos. Both types carry the same F1 safety classification. There’s no chemical difference — it’s purely about size and burn time.
Are sparklers safe to use at a wedding venue?
Yes — all our sparklers are CE-marked and legal for consumer use in the UK. We recommend using them outdoors, keeping a bucket of water or sand nearby for spent sparklers, and checking with your venue beforehand. Most venues are happy to allow outdoor sparklers with basic safety precautions.
Can I use sparklers indoors at my wedding?
Standard sparklers should only be used outdoors — they burn at around 1,000–1,600°C. For indoor use, our ice fountains produce a controlled silver fountain effect at a much lower temperature, making them safe for cakes, dining tables, and inside venues.
Can I get wedding sparklers delivered quickly?
Yes. Most orders dispatch within 1–2 working days via courier. Orders over £300 qualify for free delivery to mainland UK. If you need sparklers urgently, contact us and we’ll do our best to help.
Can you buy sparklers for weddings all year round?
Yes. Sparklers are classified as Category F1 and can be sold and used year-round in the UK. We keep wedding sparklers in stock throughout the year — they’re popular for spring, summer, and winter weddings alike.
