LIGHT UP YOUR AUTUMN
Firework season
starts here
Hello, you lot.
September is nearly over, and this year's fireworks calendar has lined up rather well. Halloween falls on Saturday 31 October, Bonfire Night is Thursday 5 November, and Diwali is Sunday 8 November. Two busy weekends, with the main night right in the middle.
We've picked out Beetlejuice and two of our own Galactic display packs below. There's something to report from the display circuit too: Southport has a new British Musical Fireworks champion, and Blackpool still has an October show to come.

Monumental take the Southport title
Monumental Fireworks have won the 2026 British Musical Fireworks Championship. Six teams competed at Victoria Park in Southport on 26 and 27 September. Fire Monkey Pyro took second place, with Sonic Fireworks third.
The result was reported on 28 September by Stand Up For Southport, quoting Sefton Council's tourism team. Congratulations to the winners and everyone who put a display into the competition.
Read the result and audience reactions. If you were there, we'd love your verdict. Which display would you have put first? Email help@galacticfireworks.co.uk and tell us.
Blackpool has one more night to come
Saturday 10 October is the next date at the World Fireworks Championship Blackpool, with Germany's Haupt Feuerwerke taking their turn.
The show is free to watch and fires from the beach in front of the Tower. The build-up starts at 7pm, with firing scheduled for 7.30pm. VisitBlackpool recommends watching from Central Promenade between North and Central Pier.
All displays depend on suitable weather. Check the official event page and latest updates before travelling, including the promenade and tramway arrangements.
One date before all of that
The Government's fireworks consultation closes on 7 October. We covered the proposals in July; this is a short reminder to give your own views through the official consultation if you haven't already.
Here's to a good season. Whether you're firing on the 5th or celebrating over either weekend, we'd love to hear what you've got planned.
