Peking opera runs in acts, and so does this one. It opens quiet and finishes loud.
From Riakeo, 71 shots over 40 seconds, F2 rated with just over 900 grams of pyro-powder and three bore sizes in one box: 20, 25 and 30mm. Silver chrysanthemums with coloured dahlia stamens start it off, straight up and more elegant than noisy. Then gold tourbillion tails go up in a tri-fan and burst into three-colour brocade palms. The last act is a mine volley, red strobes and white comets through gold and blue. Rated F2, a garden firework: keep spectators at least 8 metres back for safety.
Because the bores climb through the sequence it genuinely grows as it runs. Good as a centrepiece, better as the thing you finish on.
