Fawkes' Top Tip
A compound is several cakes pre-linked into one show. Leave it strapped in its outer packaging and fire it as one piece: one fuse runs the lot. It fires in a fan, so check the arrow on the box and point that side at the crowd, giving it side clearance as well as overhead height.
