We've been helping couples plan wedding firework displays for over 35 years. Every order over £300 qualifies for free UK delivery, and any cart with an item from our Free Delivery collection ships free regardless of cart total.

Check with your venue first!

Before you buy anything, confirm your venue allows fireworks. Ask about noise curfews, designated firing areas and any restrictions on firework types. Most outdoor venues are happy to accommodate — but always get it in writing.

Why Self-Fired Wedding Fireworks?

Yes, you can hire a professional company to fire your wedding display — but the bulk of the budget gets eaten up in wages, logistics and travel before the first firework is even lit. A self-fired display is the way forward, value for money.

The most important thing is finding someone willing to put their hand up — a groomsman, a guest, a brother-in-law — someone who'll take responsibility for setting up and firing the fireworks. The good news? It's genuinely easy. Our wedding packs are built around compounds and rockets. Fewer fuses, straightforward setup. Fireworks can be prepared and waterproofed in advance, set up earlier in the day and left out ready to go. Then at dusk, your volunteer lights them up before joining the party. Watch Nigel walk through a full display setup — it really is that simple.

Want to make it even easier? Use an electronic firing system. Stand back with the rest of the wedding party, press the button, fire the fireworks, enjoy the show — then get back to your drinks. No running around with a lighter in a suit.

Choosing Wedding Fireworks by Venue Type

Wedding fireworks look different depending on where you're firing them. A countryside garden with open fields can handle full-size rockets and compound cakes. A barn or stately home with a terrace wants something more contained — mid-sized compounds with tighter fallout. Knowing what your venue can take before you order saves awkward conversations on the day.

Small gardens and paddocks suit the Bronze Wedding Party pack or a short sparkler send-off with ice fountains on the cake. Short duration, lower noise, minimal setup. Safety distance for F2 fireworks is 8 metres and for F3 cakes and rockets is 25 metres — most garden receptions have that comfortably, provided guests and parked cars are kept back.

Stately homes and country estates are where self-fired wedding fireworks really shine. Plenty of open grass, room for a proper 25-metre safety cordon, and the backdrop of a Georgian façade or an oak avenue makes for spectacular photography. Silver or Gold packs are the usual call here, fired at dusk before the band starts.

Barns and marquees need a little more planning. Distance from thatch, hay, tented canopies and generator cables all matter — your venue coordinator will tell you what's signed off. Coloured smoke grenades and wedding sparklers work inside or just outside the door. Ice fountains are indoor-safe. For the main display, move outside to a designated firing area with the cordon well away from the structure.

Winter weddings and indoor celebrations lean on ice fountains for the cake, sparklers for the send-off, and a quick volley of low-noise fireworks outside between courses. Most winter venues have a covered terrace, car park or driveway that works for a short outdoor moment while guests watch from a warm, dry spot indoors.

Wedding Fireworks FAQ

Do I need a licence to set off fireworks at my wedding?

No. In England, Scotland and Wales, any adult aged 18 or over can set off consumer fireworks (categories F2 and F3) on private land with the landowner's permission. You do not need a licence, insurance or professional qualifications. You do need your venue's written permission, and fireworks must finish before 11pm under UK fireworks law.

How far in advance should I order wedding fireworks?

We recommend ordering at least 2 weeks before your wedding date — just tell us the day when you order and we'll make sure it's with you in plenty of time. For peak season (September to November), order 3-4 weeks ahead to guarantee stock on popular products like the Wedding Spectacular pack.

Can I have fireworks at a daytime wedding?

Yes. Coloured smoke grenades work brilliantly in daylight and come in 8 colours to match your wedding theme. They're F1-rated (no safety distance, anyone can use them) and photograph beautifully. Sparklers also work in daylight, though they're more dramatic after dark.

Should I hire a professional or fire them myself?

A professional display company typically charges £800-2,000+ for a wedding — and the bulk of that goes on wages, travel and logistics before a single firework is lit. A self-fired display using our wedding packs gives you the same visual impact at a fraction of the cost. You just need one willing volunteer to set up and fire. Our compounds and rockets are designed for easy setup with minimal fuses.

How much do wedding fireworks cost?

A sparkler send-off with 18" mammoth sparklers costs around £30-75 depending on guest count. Ice fountains for the cake start from 99p each. Our three display packs — Bronze £240, Silver £400, Gold £600 — all run a 3–5 minute finale, just getting bigger and more spectacular as you go up. For something beyond that we build bespoke self-fired wedding displays from £1,000 right up to £10,000+ — get in touch and we'll tailor it to your venue and budget. Most couples land somewhere between £400 and £3,000, which also qualifies for free UK delivery.

Do you supply to wedding venues and event planners?

Yes. We supply wedding venues, event planners and styling companies across the UK. For bulk orders (ice fountains, sparklers, smoke grenades), see our bulk sparkler deals and case pricing on ice fountains. If you're a venue interested in a recommended supplier arrangement, get in touch.

Can we have wedding fireworks indoors?

Only cold-spark products like ice fountains and indoor-safe sparklers. Full consumer fireworks (F2 and F3) must be fired outdoors with a safety distance of at least 8 metres for F2 and 25 metres for F3 cakes and rockets. Most winter venues have a terrace, car park or driveway that works for a short outdoor display while guests watch from a covered area indoors.

What are the best wedding fireworks for a small garden?

For a 30-80 guest wedding in a garden or small paddock, our Bronze Wedding Party pack at £240 is the usual call. It runs 3-5 minutes, uses compounds and rockets for easy setup, and keeps noise and fallout manageable. Pair it with ice fountains on the cake and a sparkler send-off at the end of the night for a full experience without needing a huge firing area.
