Purple Smoke Grenade is for anyone who wants their photos to look a bit different. Red, blue and pink turn up at plenty of celebrations, but a cloud of deep purple behind a wedding party or a birthday group is a much rarer sight.
It's a single ring-pull grenade from Black Cat. Pull the ring and it catches within a couple of seconds, then pours out around 90 seconds of thick smoke with no flame and nothing fired into the air. Outdoors only, and on private land: the label is clear that setting one off in a public area is against the law.
Line your group up first, then pull the ring just before you start shooting, so the cloud builds around them while the camera is already rolling.
