Orange Smoke Grenade is the warm one. Photographers pick it because orange glows against a blue sky or a grey autumn afternoon, and it comes out on camera as a proper bold colour.
It's a single ring-pull grenade from Black Cat. Pull the ring and it catches within a couple of seconds, then pours out around 90 seconds of thick smoke with no flame and nothing fired into the air. Outdoors only, and on private land: the label is clear that setting one off in a public area is against the law.
Give it a few seconds to build before you start shooting, so the first frames catch the cloud at its fullest.
