Fireworks should only be lit by an adult. They should read and follow the instructions on each firework.
Never return to a firework once it has been lit.
Never throw fireworks or put them in a pocket.
Don’t bring your pet to a fireworks display, this could scare them.
When you hold a sparkler, always wear gloves, and hold them at arm’s length.
An adult should light sparklers one at a time.
Stand far back from the fireworks and the bonfire.
Once your sparkler is finished, put it in water or a dirt-filled bucket.
Ensure you keep the fireworks in a closed box until you’re ready to use them.
The law states that you must not set off fireworks between 11pm and 7am, except for: Bonfire Night, when the cut off is midnight. New Year's Eve, Diwali and Chinese New Year, when the cut off is 1am.
